Standing out in Supervisor Campaign

Mike Spence, candidate for Amador County Supervisor, District 3 has been standing out in front of upcountry businesses for months now, listening to local residents' concerns.  The next formal opportunity to "Meet Mike" will be on March 15 from 2-5PM at the Mace Meadow Golf Course Event Center.

Mike Spence and his wife Kevan began building their Pioneer dream home in 2000, not to retire but to raise their two children and operate Mike's publishing business and Kevan's law practice here in Amador County.  Mike and Kevan have always been involved with our school system, from coaching and tutoring at Pioneer Elementary all the way to working toward assisting the Amador Community College Foundation.  Kevan is currently serving on the Board of the ACCF and Mike has served on ACCF Committees and for the last few years as the Parent Advisory Representative for Argonaut High School.  You may recognize Mike from his work at TSPN TV promoting Amador County, and especially his dog Butter who has been sitting on the TSPN news desk since she was a puppy.

"I don't believe that this campaign should be about taking personal credit for every small contribution we have made to our community.  It should be about "standing up for local businesses and services."  We need to focus more on our community needs upcountry, working toward achievable pride and beautification goals and putting residents first.  Upcountry residents have already provided input into a ten year plan through the 2011 GPAC Committee, and concluded that they do not want a big box store to anchor a shopping center in Buckhorn.  In my opinion, it appears that they also do not want any environmental designations that would allow the federal government to gain more control over our Mokelumne River water or fire protection."

"As an independent, I am free of any labels or political agenda. My sole purpose is to be able to work full-time on behalf of all upcountry residents and in their best interests. Unlike the other two candidates, I have not aligned myself with any particular organizations or political interest groups.  It will be entirely up to upcountry residents, whether they elect me to work full-time on their behalf."
